HICKORY, N.C. (July 12, 2014) – JR Motorsports’ dominance of Hickory Motor Speedway continued Saturday night with another 1-2 effort led by Josh Berry’s fifth victory of the season. Teammate William Byron bounced back to early-season form earning runner-up results in both qualifying and the race.

For Berry, his Hickory brilliance began with the No. 88 Speedco team’s eighth pole of the season. In the race, Berry led wire-to-wire while fending off challenges from Byron’s No. 9.

“I'm really proud of the effort my team put in this weekend,” Berry said after collecting his fifth victory at Hickory this season and sixth overall. “We were able to barely get William for the pole which put us in good track position in the race. Honestly, I feel like that may have been the difference because William and I were so close in the race.”

Byron stood poised for his first career victory in the No. 9 Liberty University Chevrolet. However, the rookie driver could not bypass his veteran teammate after battling a loose race car in the late laps.

“I am absolutely stoked about our finish tonight,” a happy Byron said afterwards. “To get another podium finish and another 1-2 finish for JR Motorsports feels great.”

The JR Motorsports duo maintains its hold on the top two positions in the track’s season-long points’ standings. The teams will be back in action at the track this Saturday, July 19.
