MOORESVILLE, N.C. (March 23, 2010) - JR Motorsports announced today that Josh Berry will drive in two races at Motor Mile Speedway for the company’s late model program. Berry, a 19-year-old native of Hendersonville, Tenn., will pilot the No. 72 Chevrolet in those two events on April 3rd and 17th.

Josh is quite a talent,” said Willie Jackson, manager of JRM’s late model campaign. “Despite his young age, he still manages to bring over 10 years of racing experience and impressive stats to our organization. We’re proud to offer him this opportunity.”

Berry is no stranger to success behind the wheel. His racing résumé includes track championships in Legends cars at Fairgrounds Speedway at Nashville, Huntsville Speedway, Music City Motorplex and numerous feature wins.

Although Motor Mile marks the Tennessean’s first race in a late model, it won’t be his first time behind the wheel. Berry participated in a test at the facility with the JRM team in mid March.

“This is such a wonderful opportunity,” said Berry. “I’ve been very impressed with the JR Motorsports organization as a whole, and I want to thank everyone at JRM for being so helpful and supportive through this process.

“My goals are to do my best to finish both the races, and if all goes well, we’ll have a definite shot at being competitive.”

Veteran late model racer Richard Boswell Jr. will resume driving duties of the No. 72 Chevrolet following the April 17th race at Motor Mile Speedway.
